This music is sacred music, broken apart and reassembled piece by piece. Half of these pieces are new works for electric piano and accordion, taking inspiration from Wolfgang Mozart and Boris Blacher. Each note was recorded separately--the electric piano was mic'd with a hydrophone and run through a Freeze pedal to create the sustained tone. This method produced a number of harmonics and buzzes that when stacked into a four-part harmony created unexpected complexities despite the more traditional prominent melodies. The "Sienna" pieces are improvisations for solo accordion. This music was conceived as a score or part of a score for the as-yet-to-be filmed Mile-High Bologna Pie documentary film (due Fall 2017).
